There is something incredibly meaningful about being invited back into a family’s story, again and again. Chandler Rose’s in-home newborn session felt especially emotional for that reason. I have had the privilege of photographing Cait and Mike through so many of their most meaningful milestones, from their engagement, to their wedding day, to their pregnancy announcement, and now this beautiful new chapter as they welcomed their baby girl.

It is one of the greatest honors of my work to be continuously invited into your life to document the moments that matter most. To witness a love story grow into a family and preserve those memories along the way is something I never take lightly.
What made this session even more special was how deeply personal every detail of Chandler’s nursery felt. It was thoughtfully curated in a way that reflected not only Chandler’s story, but the story of the family who was waiting for her. There were beautiful nods to their dogs- Bruce, Bernie, and Bowie- their first babies, woven throughout the space in such intentional and meaningful ways. A field hockey stick hung on the wall as a subtle tribute to Cait’s favorite sport and the one she coaches, adding another layer of personal history to the room. The nursery itself felt timeless and collected, with plaid wallpaper, antique-inspired touches, and board and batten painted in the most beautiful antiqued rose, creating a space that felt warm, nostalgic, and full of soul.

And then there were Bowie and Bernie, who took their roles as big brothers very seriously. Watching them gently settle in beside Chandler and stay close to their people was one of the sweetest parts of the session. Their presence made the images feel even more like them. There was also a quiet tenderness in honoring Bruce, the third of the sweet pups, who unfortunately passed away just weeks before Chandler was born. His presence was felt in the details, in the love that shaped this home, and in the story of this family. It was such a beautiful reminder that love carries forward, even through loss.

Chandler Rose’s newborn session was filled with the kind of quiet beauty I love most. The soft rhythm of being at home, the tenderness in the way Cait and Mike held their daughter, the tiny details that change so quickly in these early days, all of it felt sacred. There is something so special about photographing a family in the space where their story is unfolding in real time. Home holds a kind of intimacy that can never be replicated.

These are the moments that may feel ordinary while you are living them, but one day become the memories you treasure most. The way she fit so perfectly in their arms, the way they looked at her with awe, the beginning of a love that will shape the rest of their lives.
Cait and Mike, thank you for trusting me to document your story through so many seasons. It is a gift beyond words to be your photographer, and to preserve these heirlooms for your family as your legacy continues to unfold. Welcome to the world, sweet Chandler Rose. You are already so deeply loved.
