You’re engaged! First and foremost, congratulations!
I’m sure your mind is already swirling with the dreamy details you want to bring to life on
your wedding day. Which begs the question: who do I trust to capture those beautiful
details so I can cherish them forever? Your wedding photographer, of course! That’s where I
come in.
The season you are stepping into is a magical one. It is also fleeting. As the planning gets
into full swing, the days will start to fly by. But this time shouldn’t go unappreciated. A
wedding photographer can also capture the magic of this moment with an engagement
session.
In case you were on the fence, here are a few reasons why you won’t regret booking an
engagement session with your photographer.
Your engagement session is a trial run
You will have a trial run for your hair and makeup, you’ll have a rehearsal for your
ceremony, so why not have an engagement session before your wedding photos?
Personally, I love that an engagement session gives us the opportunity to get to know each
other and get more comfortable with the process of taking pictures. We can try out poses
to find what’s most natural for you, that way we can avoid that “what do I do with my
hands” feeling we ALL have had.
Find your bliss
Along those same lines, engagement sessions allow me to get a feel for your relationship
and capture it in the most genuine way possible. This will be helpful on your wedding day,
as well, because our common goal is to end up with a wedding album filled with YOUR love.
Are you sentimental? Are you silly? Romantic? Getting to know who you really are and the
dynamic of your relationship creates a unique experience and fiercely authentic photos.
Professional photos can be used in many ways
These will be quality, professional photos. You can incorporate them in your wedding
decor, use them for invitations or save-the-dates, Christmas cards, display them in your
home, the list goes on and on! Plus, who doesn’t love to share a beautiful photo on
Instagram from time to time?
Lightning in a bottle
Time goes fast and capturing the important moments while they are happening means
holding onto them forever. Getting engaged, feeling that incredible bond as a couple,
having the time to be present in the moment, just the two of you – these things don’t
happen every day and they should be cherished as such. Lightning in a bottle.
There is magic to be captured in this moment and, as a professional photographer, that is
my favorite responsibility.
