Motherhood.
I became a mom back in August of 2021 and my life changed forever. The bond between mother and baby is truly unlike any other and as a photographer, I get to witness how incredible and unique that bond is to every mother and child.
I knew that I wanted to create a space for this love and connection to flourish. A space that is not only beautiful, but comforting. A space where mothers can come and love on their children and feel confident in who they are. Mothers are superheroes and I believe that every mom deserves a chance to hang up her cape and just be with her babies without any cares in the world.
I immediately reached out to Ashley of Tarry Grove and asked her if she wanted to be a part of the day. She of course, said absolutely and we began thinking up the vision for the day.
My vision was bright and whimsical, yet still elegant and timeless. Ashley of course followed through with the most beautiful floral installations. She fully took my vision and created reality. And for that, I am so thankful.
Now that the scene was set, I was ready to bring in all of the mamas. I had the privilege of photographing 10 beautiful mothers with their babies. The emotions of the day were intense. I became overwhelmed with gratitude that these women trusted me to capture the most beautiful bond that has ever existed. Many tears were shed looking through my viewfinder as I watched these incredible women mother their children. Each one different from the rest.
Some sessions were light hearted and fun. Others were more soulful and deep. But all of them were beautiful and full of so much love.
When I look through the images that I captured that day, the emotions come right back to me. These sessions were near and dear to my heart and I look forward to creating this space for more mothers in the years to come.
